Ok. So I am currently 36 weeks along and am longing for this pregnancy to be over with. I just want to see my little boy... and lose some of the aches, pains, and trials we have gone through with this pregnancy.
At 35 weeks, last Sunday, the 12th, a friend of mine, Wendy, threw Mike and me a baby shower. Unfortunetly, Mike was not able to attend as he was in St. Louis visiting his family and attending his father's funeral. Thank you all, by the way, for your prayers. I know that we and the Power family have felt your generosity.
Although Mike was not able to attend the shower, we thought it be best if we still had it due to lack of time in the coming weeks, and to give me something fun to do while Mike was away. The baby shower's guest list included Mike's class, with whom he's been training the past 10-11 months, and their respective spouses/significant others. Even though it was a little awkward for the men to participate in the games, they had a lot of fun in the end. Wendy did a great job in holding a unisex baby shower. Below are some of the pictures from the shower. Enjoy!
I will update most likely after the baby is born. It is getting harder and harder to get up the stairs to the computer.

Two of the games we played. If you look closely at the picture on the top, two of the guys are trying to down apple juice from slow flow nipples and bottles. There were several of us involved in this game. Who ever was able to finish their apple juice first won. The picture on the bottom doesn't do justice to the amount of hilarity this game provided us as two of the guys tried to diaper, dress, and swaddle their "babies" blind folded.

A pic. of me at the shower. I am 35 weeks in this picture.

The food table partially set up. (The pic. was taken before all the food was put out)

The diaper cake with some little baby "goodies" attached to it. The party favors were little bottles with MMs in them.

  3. Thank you, Erin. Mike and I have long awaited the birth of our little boy. And his birth will come at the most perfect time, GOD's time. As Job has written: "...the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord". God is so good. He gives us time to mourn, but soon changes that time of mourning into celebration of new life.
Soon, Mike and I will experience why God chose not to give us children earlier than this year.

BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD!
