Back At Home- New Year 2009

William's new fascination: The hand vacuum. Oh yeah, and going around the house pant less.

William loves, loves, loves to play and vacuum with the hand vac. He can't turn it on by himself yet, so he asks me please to do it for him. I turn it on and he will literally walk around the living room, and sometimes the bedrooms, and look for specks to vacuum up. He gets tired of it quickly, though, because the vacuum is still too heavy for him to hold for very long. But, believe me, he asks me at least 3 times a day if he can play with the vacuum.

The second picture is of him holding the vented (a circular fan blowing out air)side of the vacuum, while it's on, close to his face.

This is a picture of Mike and William on Mike's birthday (Jan 5). He is only two years from the big 30!

I made a cookie cake since Mike doesn't care for the normal scrumptious chocolate or vanilla cake. It's ok. We ate this one with vanilla ice cream. It was still yummy!

WHAT A BIG BOY!!!

Yes, this is William sleeping in a toddler bed. Yes, he is a bit young for it; but is doing incredibly well with it. In fact, he loves it!

The week, New Year's week, we were back from St. Louis, Mike and I decided to order the conversion kit/toddler bed rail for William's crib. It was going to take a couple of weeks to get in and the cost was approx. $60-70. We couldn't pass up this toddler bed at Babies R Us for $50 (on sale). So we bought this instead. Which saved us the hassle, and the $$$, of looking for yet another crib for Abigail. Therefore, William was moved into a bigger bedroom and into a toddler bed, with the crib sitting empty opposite him in his room. He doesn't even think twice about the crib.

We did all this now because William doesn't do well with change. We thought the sooner he gets used to a new bed and bedroom, the better. Hopefully, it works by the time Abigail gets here. Gosh, we only started 4 months early.

William will go to bed and stay in bed for naps without a hitch. But when it comes to "night night time" he still is getting out of bed at least 2-3 times before he finally falls asleep. Not to mention, he also wakes up crying at least every 2 hours at night. One of us always has to go in and lay him back down and he'll fall asleep immediately. His new room is big, dark (we've discovered he doesn't like night lights), and he can't see into our room anymore. No more visual comfort if he wakes up in the night. It will take some time, but it's worth it. Especially as I get bigger and as he gets bigger; I am not able to lift him as easily as I used to.

This is William putting da da to bed. William pulled Mike's hand and took him to his bedroom. Patted the bed and pushed Mike's head down on the pillow as soon as Mike sat down. William then covered Mike with his blanket, turned on the aquarium (at the end of the bed), and proceeded to bring over stuffed animals to sleep with Mike. It was incredibly cute!
