1st Word(s)- August

William loves dogs and ducks and outside. So yes, it makes sense that his first words would be these three. What does that say about Mike and I? Does William not love us?

William will say "daw" as dog, "duh" as duck, and his new word this month-September-is "ouw-sigh" as outside.

I'm amazed that he is even saying anything. He jabbers all the time, but I've heard that kids usually don't start their vocabulary until about 2 years old; and that their first words are usually mama or dada. I'm not saying he uses these words all the time. Sometimes we have to encourage him. But he starting to say them more frequently.

When we take William on a walk, he'll see a dog and point. I'll say "dog" and he'll point again and say "daw". Then the rest of the day he'll say "daw" when he either sees or hears a dog. The past couple of days he's been saying "ouw-sigh" and walking to the door and jiggling the handle. He loves to go outside. "Duh" only happens in the bathtub. He also loves his rubber duckys. He's got three. He'll hand me his duck and go "uh-uh" meaning he wants me to sing the rubber ducky song. I'll sing it while I squeak the duck-yes, he's got me wrapped around his little finger-and he'll say "duh".

Amazing. He's growing so fast.
